Civil Services Examination Notification 2019
Civil Services Examination happens every year primarily for all the Group ‘A’ posts in the Government of India. It includes posts like IAS, IPS, IFS,IRS & many more. As per official calendar released by Union Public Service Commission ,notification for Civil Services Examination 2019 was released on 19th February 2019. Application process for UPSC CSE 2019 started from 19th February 2019 itself.

Candidates are required to apply Online by using the website https://upsconline.nic.in. Applicants appearing for CSE can apply through upsconline.nic.in from 19th February 2019 till 18th March 2019.

UPSC CSE 2019 Eligibility Criteria
Any candidate who has obtained bachelor’s degree from a recognized university can apply for posts under UPSC CSE 2019. Candidates who are in the final year of their degree or candidates whose final results are awaiting can also apply for UPSC CSE 2019.
A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 32 years on the 1st of August, 2019 i.e., he must have been born not earlier than 2nd August,1987 and not later than 1st August, 1998. However, its 35 for OBC candidates and 37 for SC/ST candidates.

UPSC CSE 2019 total vacancies are 896 including 39 seats for reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disability Category.
UPSC CSE Exam Center
Candidates while filling the application form for UPSC CSE 2019 will have to opt 2 centers. One for UPSC CSE 2019 Preliminary Examination and another for UPSC CSE 2019 Mains Examination. Candidates are requested to choose the centers carefully as once the center is allotted it cant be changed at any circumstances.

Every year Union Public Service Examination (UPSC) conducts Civil Services Examination (CSE) Examination through Pen & Paper mode all over the country. There are 3 Levels in Civil Services Examination.

UPSC CSE Preliminary Syllabus
UPPSC PCS Preliminary Examination consists of 2 compulsory papers: General Studies Paper 1 and General Studies Paper 2. Both papers are of 2 hours duration and is of 200 marks each. General Studies Paper-II of the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination will be a qualifying paper with minimum qualifying marks fixed at 33%. Marks obtained by the candidate in the UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination will not be added while preparing the final merit list for the selection of posts.
Syllabus for UPSC CSE General Studies Paper 1 Preliminary Examination:
- Current events of national and international importance.
- History of India and Indian National Movement.
- Indian and World Geography-Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India and the World.
- Indian Polity and Governance-Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc.
- Economic and Social Development-Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector Initiatives, etc.
- General issues on Environmental ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change – that do notrequire subject specialization.
- General Science
Syllabus for UPSC CSE General Studies Paper 2 Preliminary Examination:
- Comprehension
- Interpersonal skills including communication skills
- Logical reasoning and analytical ability
- Decision making and problem solving
- General mental ability
- Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc.)

UPSC CSE Mains Examination is the most important part of the Civil Services Examination. Marks obtained by the candidate in the UPSC Civil Services Mains Examination will be added while preparing the final merit list for the selection of posts.

UPSC CSE Admit Card
UPSC CSE 2019 Preliminary Examination Admit Card will be released 3 weeks before the actual commencement of the examination. Admit card for UPSC CSE Preliminary Examination 2019 was released on 30th April 2019. Admit Card will be issued on the UPSC official website only. Candidates can download their admit card by either using their Registration Card/ Roll Number.
UPSC CSE Result & Previous Year Cut off
Union Public Service Commission releases cut off after the completion of whole process of Civil Services Examination. Candidates qualifies in the Civil Services Preliminary Examination will be eligible to appear in Civil Services Mains Examination. Separate category wise cut off is released for both Preliminary and Mains Examination.
UPSC CSE 2018 Preliminary Examination
Candidates successfully qualifying UPSC CSE Preliminary Examination will be eligible to appear in next level of examination that is UPSC CSE Mains examination. Marks obtained by the candidates in UPSC CSE Preliminary Examination General Studies Paper 1 will only be accounted while preparing the cut off to appear in UPSC CSE 2019 Mains examination. UPSC CSE Preliminary Examination General Studies Paper 2 is only qualifying in nature. Candidates has to score minimum 33% in this paper in order to qualify for appearing in CSE Mains examination.

UPSC CSE 2018 Mains Examination
Candidates successfully qualifying in UPSC CSE mains examination will appear for USC CSE Interview process. Paper A and Paper B of CSE mains examination is qualifying in nature. While the marks obtained by the candidates in General Studies Paper 1 to Paper 7 will be evaluated while preparing the cut off to appear in UPSC CSE 2018 Interview.

UPSC CSE 2018 Final Cut off
UPSC CSE 2018 Final Cut off is prepared by evaluating the marks obtained by the candidates in UPSC CSE Mains as well as Interview. Total merit list is prepared out of 2025 marks. 1750 marks for UPSC CSE mains and 275 marks for UPSC CSE Interview.

Yes, there is a interview of 275 marks.

UR candidates can maximum appear 6 times. OBC candidates can appear maximum number of 9 times. While for SC/ST candidates there is no such limit.

No, Language Paper 1& 2 are only qualifying in nature.
