UPSC Civil Services Exam Pattern

Civil Services Examination is one of the most toughest examination in the world. Many students from different educational backgrounds try their hands on this coveted examination. Although every year UPSC receive lakhs of applications but only few hundreds of them made it to the final list.Posts like IAS, IPS,IRS, IAAS,IFS & many more jobs are filed through this examination. But with right set of mindset , guidance and preparatory material this dream can come true.

UPSC CSE Preliminary Pattern

UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination consists of two mandatory papers, General Studies Paper 1 and General Studies Paper 2. Both the papers are mandatory and consists of 200 marks each. General Studies Paper 2 is only qualifying in nature, 33% marks is required to clear this paper. While marks of general Studies Paper 1 is accounted while preparing the cut off to appear in Civil Services Mains Examination.

UPSC CSE Mains Pattern

Candidates successfully clearing UPSC Preliminary Examination will be eligible to appear in mains examination. UPSC Civil Services Mains Examination consists of 9 papers out of which 2 papers( Language paper 1 & Language Paper 2 are of qualifying nature only). While other 7 paper marks are accounted while preparing the final cut off.
